Discuss the ride of a lifetime.
Bob Dylan
Bob Dylan has gone through different phases and eras, if you will, but has continued in his tradition of beautiful writing of both music and lyrics throughout. What are some of your favourite Bob Dylan songs or albums, or just favourite lines from different songs? I have many so share some of yours and I'll share some of mine.
Looking back...
Over the past two weeks of plumbing issues, I realized I have learned some life lessons.First, don't ignore the sound of running water. Not even for one teeny little day. Second, reddi-rooter sucks. And not in the let-us-get-that-water-from-your-crawlspace way, either. A shocking number of plumbers are eager to screw over the insurance companies. A shocking number of plumbers really do flash half their butt when they are squatting, kneeling, or sometimes even just standing. Irish plumbers in America call pipes "pips". It is charming. If your plumber says "well look at that!", it is NOT a good sign. If your plumber says it will be a week long job, expect it to be 2 weeks. Don't trench your yard when it's raining. If you absolutely have to, be prepared for the fact that you are going to have the ugliest yard on the block. I want trenchers to be street legal, and then I want to own one. Anyone else have anything to add?
Have you ever killed a man?
*no one was killed or harmed (that much) in the following story*Last Saturday night, me and my friend were out on yet another drunken golf cart ride through the orange groves. Our neighborhood only contains four houses and a lot of empty streets and bare lots so we were riding everywhere, well a police man was patrolling the neighborhood, doing his 1am rounds and turned his lights on for us to stop. He got out of his car and asked us what in Gods name we were doing driving a golf cart on the street at 1am when it wasn't street legal (we have no plates on it) We said that we thought it was ok as long as we were not on the main road with traffic. He proceeded to lecture us and my eyes were wondering about and gained focus on his gun in his side holster and I blurted out "Have you ever killed a man"? I cought him by surprise because his eyes buldged out and he looked at me for a second and then started laughing hysterically. He let us go without fining us that night.....lol
Whats Your Dream Car??
My Dear Car Would Have To Be The Nissan Skyline GT 34R Because Its The Fastest Street Legal Car!!!!!!!!!!!! And Its Just Tight...
You won't believe what my son just asked me!!!
My boyfriend, Nick, has a $3000 go-kart. We live in a small town and he has been told by the cops that he can ride it in our neighborhood and by the railroad tracks, but not uptown. It has lights, turn signals, and 4 point seat belts, but it's not licensed, and it doesn't have an orange triangle so it's not street legal. Lately, Nick has been teaching my son, Ben, to drive it because it will be his when he graduates the 8th grade(maybe). Anyway, the jr/sr high school is out due to a gas leak, so 'the boy' is home. Ben just came and asked if he could drive the go-kart up to his friends house, on the other side of the tracks and across our main street. He got very argumentative when I said 'no'. DUH!!! Like I was going to have a different answer. He started getting irritated when I was explaining why not. Besides the legal issues to consider, the first time he drove it, he panicked and put himself and Nick into a sticker bush. Nick is at work, so we can't find out that I'm right when I say that Nick will say no, as well. Did I mention that Ben is 13!! I told him he's not even supposed to be driving it WITH Nick, let alone WITHOUT him. What are kids thinking these days???
Finally, it's a flying car!
The Defense Advanced Projects Agency (DARPA) has cleared the Transformer (TX) program for takeoff. If it flies, by 2015 U.S. soldiers will be able to ride into battle aboard a four-person flying car that can cruise in the air like an airplane, drive on the ground like an SUV, rove 250 miles on one tank of fuel and not require a runway to get airborne.DARPA, the Department of Defense office that is tasked with exploring futuristic technologies that may have military applications, held an industry day workshop for companies earlier this year to solicit proposals for developing a prototype vehicle. Proposals are due May 27.TransformerThe Transformer will give troops the ability to avoid traditional and unconventional threats such as ambushes and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and road obstructions. DARPA envisions a variety of use-case scenarios for the TX, including strike and raid, interdiction, intervention, insurgency/counterinsurgency, reconnaissance, medical evacuation and logistics supply. The notion of a flying car isn’t new. Remember the flying cars in Sim City 2000? What is new with the TX is pumping up the concept by demanding both enhanced...
I'm going to say something that will anger many NASCAR fans --- Go Jeff Gordon
I have been a NASCAR fan since the days of the King, and the Allisons and the Yarboroughs. But NASCAR has come a long way from the days of only the good ol' boys and running barely street legal hot rods. NASCAR has become a big time, professional sport. That means bringing in drivers from other tracks, the open wheel drivers, Can-Am, formula 1 drivers. Why is that a good thing?? Because it shows that NASCAR is no longer the RedNeck cousin from the hills. NASCAR is now the big show. Let's welcome Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, The Bush brothers, but remember we got Dale Jarret, Dale Jr, Mark Martin, and even Kyle Petty there in the lineup. It doesn't make NASCAR any weaker. It shows how strong it is and can be.
ferrari vs. lamborghini
Other than the fact, there are other great cars in the world like the Pagani Zonda, Ultima GTR, Saleen S7R-TT, Mclaren, Dauer EB110, Dauer LM962, Koenigsegg CCR, Bugatti Veyron, Mosler MT900S, or any real and true street legal production car.. If you could choose between owning a Ferrari or a Lamborghini, which one would you buy? And why? If so, which model? What color? Would you modify it, or keep it stock?
The most expensive car!!
Bugatti Veyron! The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is currently the most powerful, most expensive and fastest street-legal production car in the world. Did you ever see that??I want to have one, maybe a day dream!! what is your car currently?
Maybach Exelero
A few weeks ago I've found a beautiful car on the internet ( Maybach Exelero ), and I was thinking to put something about her in this blog, but I hesitate. Now I really like this car, and I think you should see it to. The Exelero project is actually a joint venture between Maybach and German tire manufacturer Fulda. Fulda has been making all sorts of high-performance rubber for almost a century, and is well known for using high-profile one-off vehicles to advertise itself. Past vehicles include high-speed buses, special trucks and racing cars. Oh yeah, Fulda also once used a super streamlined Maybach to test high-speed tires (over 200 kph) way back in 1938.As you well know, car and tire technology has changed a lot, so Maybach and Fulda can't just rebuild a mere 200 kph (148 mph) car and call it a day. Fulda needs a car to test its 315/25ZR23 tire that is capable of speed of over 350 kph (217 mph). For those of you not literate in reading tire sizes: this tire will fit a 23-inch rim, be 313 millimeters wide (or over a foot wide) with a super-low profile sidewall. More importantly: this tire is not designed for race cars it's designed for standard street legal ride. Well, a...
